Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Your name, birth date, birth time (if you provide it), and birth city.
• Your gender, only if you choose to share it (it sharpens some readings).
• Your email address, only if you sign in to back up and sync your chart.
• Limited, privacy-preserving usage analytics and masked session replays (for example, which screens you open and how you tap and scroll) to improve the product. On-screen text, including your name, birth details, readings, and chat, is masked and never recorded.

How we use it

Your birth details are used to compute your natal chart and generate your readings and chat answers. Your email, if provided, is used only to send a sign-in link and to sync your data across your devices. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Who we share it with

We rely on a few service providers who process your data on our behalf, only to deliver the service:

• Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Hosting) stores your account, chart, and readings, and sends your sign-in link.
• OpenAI receives your birth details and the questions you ask, to generate your readings and chat answers. Per OpenAI’s API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train its models.
• A city-lookup service we host on Google Cloud turns the city name you type into coordinates and a time zone. It receives only the city text, not your identity.
• Amplitude provides product analytics and masked session replays (UX interactions only; your name, birth details, readings, and chat are masked), when analytics is enabled.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete it. If you do not sign in, your chart lives only on your device, and clearing your browser removes it. When you use Delete my data, we permanently erase your profile, chart, readings, and chat.

Your choices and rights

You can permanently delete everything we hold about you at any time using Delete my data in the account sheet. Signing in is optional; without it, your chart never leaves your device.

If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and to not be treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell or “share” your data for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, use Delete my data or email support@astersong.com.

Children

Astersong is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we will delete it.

Where your data is processed

Astersong is intended for users in the United States, and your data is processed on US-based infrastructure (Google Cloud / Firebase).

Readings are for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will revise the date above, and note material changes in the app.
